trial & error

Healthy development of early study skills is partially dependent on a child's ability to manage failure. To build a life-long foundation for success, it is necessary to acquire the resiliency to accept mistakes, evaluate one's process and realign goals accordingly. I strive to teach students how to self-reflect, advocate, communicate effectively, problem solve and recognize when to ask for assistance. I help students personalize their method of organization and implement effective study strategies to meet their academic demands.

finding their way

Successful students utilize a multitude of tools and skills to manage their academic demands. Organizing their materials, modulating emotional responses, and implementing and executing a plan are some examples of executive skills needed at this stage of development. I facilitate an examination of their current approach and collaborate with them to create new and improved strategies. Over time, the goal is to empower students to conduct this examination on their own and follow through independently.

accountability & progress

Sometimes we can all feel a bit disorganized. We might be guilty of adding new tasks to our to-do list but never crossing anything off. Perhaps organizing or re-organizing spaces, only to find the latest method we discovered online doesn't quite work for us and we are left feeling defeated. Part of the problem is connecting the dots between your learning style and your system of organization. I can help you learn what works, what doesn't, and why. I will teach you skills based on your personal strengths, pointing you in the direction to achieve your personal and professional goals.

help & support

As a parent coach, I teach parents the techniques and language to reframe academic expectations through the lens of executive skill development. My approach is straightforward and holistic. I advocate self-care and healthy family communication. I help clients articulate expectations, implement homework routines and set clear consequences. We will strive to maintain perspective, remain present and find balance amid challenges. I do not believe in perfect parenting, I believe in effective parenting skills.
